We are a network of artists, writers, actors, musicians and other arts practitioners who have a particular interest and experience in working in healthcare environments. We are committed to supporting and expanding the use of the arts in medicine, both through ‘social prescribing’ (using creativity and social interaction to supplement or replace prescription drugs) and to facilitate the education, training and welfare of healthcare professionals.
We all have experience of applying our own individual areas of artistic specialisation to the healthcare sector, including teaching medical humanities courses to student doctors, facilitating workshops and training sessions for clinical and non -clinical staff and working with patient groups.
